Her father used to be the publisher for The Olympian, a Washington-based newspaper. When she finished her studies at Tallahassee Florida high school, she enrolled at Boston University and continued her education. She later transferred onto Rhodes College & University of Florida. Her passion for performing arts started as an infant. The classes she took were acting and dance lessons. When she dropped out of high the school, she went to LA to pursue a career as an actor. Her first acting role was made in the 2006 film Lucy's Piano. Following her role as Alice McKee, in Blood: The Last Vampire fantasy action film and Blood: 17 Again (2009) she starred in the 2009 film 17 Again. It was her first major TV breakthrough when she played an important role in the series titled Kings in 2009. Other television appearances comprise Terra Nova Go On (a series) and Selfie. She has played a lead part on A Million Little Things, the family-oriented drama.
