
American singer, actress, and writer Ariana Grande-Butera is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. Her distinct use of the whistle register and four-octave vocal range are well-known. The media has paid close focus on her personal life, as well as her music. Grande has been awarded numerous times throughout her career including two Grammy Awards and one Brit Award. She also won two Billboard Music Awards, three American Music Awards and nine MTV Video Music Awards. Grande was 15 when she began her music career. After watching YouTube videos of Grande singing, Republic Records signed Grande to their label in 2011. Grande's vocals and whistle sound on the album were immediately compared with Mariah Carey.
